In the post bellum period, Biloxi manifested as a vacation spot yet another time. Its reputation as a destination increased by leaps and bounds with railroad access. In 1881, the first cannery was constructed in the town, drawing others to team up with the location in a short period. Biloxi at this moment, evolved as a cynosure of diverse national groups which came to work in the seafood factories. Taking into account all the above-mentioned Biloxi procured a more heterogeneous nature.

In the course of World War II, the United States Army Air Forces built Kessler Air Force Base, which emerged as a finest elementary training site for aircraft maintenance. The Biloxi economy flourished as a result of merging more diverse groups to the area. By 1958, the first Jewish synagogue had been set up in the town.

Biloxi’s casino history dates back to a period in the 1940s. Technically illegal gambling took place in a casino within the Broadwater Beach Resort when it was kicked off to start. Open gambling ended in the midst of the 1950s. The Mississippi Gulf Coast was popularly called as the “Poor Man’s Riviera” and was patronized by Southern families interested in fishing expeditions all along the summer. In the market, Biloxi ruled the roost by shrimp boats and oyster loggers.

In the early 1960s, with Biloxi a center of the focus, the Gulf Coast again emerged as a prime alternative to Florida as a southern vacation destination among Northerners. Biloxi hotels upgraded their amenities and hired chefs from France and Switzerland in an effort to provide a few of the inimitable seafood cuisine in the country.
