The History of Biloxi Mississippi
Fort Massachusetts, located on the western end of Ship Island, was populated by the Confederate Army and afterward recalled by Union Troops who converted it into a cell. On the premises there’s a library, a summer lodge, and a Confederate graveyard; excursions are provided all year round except winter. Sightseers to the Old Biloxi Burial ground can go through the tombstones of the original French colonizers.
There are nine casinos and many hotels in Biloxi, with three located somewhere else down the Mississippi Gulf. They’re approachable 24/7, and provide Las Vegas-type gaming, fun, accommodation, and upscale stores, including other facilities. The Biloxi casinos include Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Casino Magic–Biloxi, Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, Palace Casino Resort, Treasure Bay Casino Resort, Boomtown Casino, Grand Casino–Biloxi, Isle of Capri Casino Resort, and President Casino Broadwater Resort. Casino Magic-Bay St. Louis is situated in Bay St. Louis, and Copa Casino and Grand Casino- Gulfport are both located in Gulfport.
Biloxi also offers wholesome family activities. The J.L. Scott Marine Education Center and Aquarium showcases 47 aquariums, a 44,000-gallon Gulf of Mexico tank, touch pools and live displays. Time In Family Fun Center is the biggest internal playground on the Mississippi Gulf, and showcases putt putt, a two-storied carpeted playground, computer games, and dining. Public pools and mini golf courses are also available in the town. This place is a must see if you love adventure, history and of course casinos-you’ll never be disappointed.
